Welkam to Solomons Soap!

Solomons Soap is the fifth community to receive Sistas Savve training! The twenty young women started training on February 4th, and will for the next ten weeks be trained in livelihood, life and health skills and knowledge.

Solomons Soap will be joining these Sistas Savve graduates from White River in producing beautiful products.

Sistas Savve is a two year project aiming to improve the health, economic and social status of young women in Honiara. It is a partnership between Solomon Islands Planned Parenthood Association (SIPPA), Solomon Islands Young Women’s Christian Association (YWCA-SI) and Family Planning International New Zealand, and is funded by the New Zealand Aid Programme.

By providing a range of informal education opportunities, the young women will develop skills and knowledge that will enable them to earn a livelihood and develop leadership, reproductive health, nutrition, and parenting skills. Over two years, Sistas Savve will provide opportunities to 120 young women, their families and communities.
